    Preside over felony and misdemeanor juvenile delinquency cases and felony criminal cases. Duties include: jury trials, bench trials, probation modification hearings, detention hearings, certification and transfer hearings for juveniles to stand trial as adults, release and transfer hearings for juveniles eligible to be transferred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, adult criminal trials, post-adjudication drug court, girls’ mental health court and “Restore Court” for teenage victims of human sex trafficking.

Responsibilities included jury trials, evidentiary motions, and motions to revoke probation. Felony jury trials included offenses such as murder, aggravated sexual assault of a child, aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, possession of controlled substances, and intoxication manslaughter.
